A storied home with character and history worthy of the Lowry Hill neighborhood included a dilapidated carriage house built alongside the principal structure dating back to 1896. A complete redesign and reconstruction of this Carriage House required an approach that paid homage to the incredible architecture set forth by the main home, while providing the space and function needed to fit today’s amenities. The scale and massing of this new Carriage House were prudently studied to ensure a proper fit within the available rear yard space and surrounding homes. Exterior finishes, incredible detailing unique to the original house, and a storybook rounded brick chimney were introduced to create an immediate history and connection to its century-old past.
