Let the lake and the light in.

Willing to go the extra mile (and dollar) to get better water views, a less congested floor plan, and more light, homeowners were looking at an adjacent site. But after talking with architects, Rehkamp Larson, they heard a cooler (and yes cheaper) solution.  Views of the lake were actually better from their existing house, the floor plan could be easily opened up, and light could indeed flow. The resulting design dramatically transformed the once-dark, cramped house. The kitchen was opened up and larger windows were added, the dining room was relocated to take advantage of a bay window and fireplace, and a sleek bookcase was built into the living room wall. A new study, entry, and mudroom increased the home’s functionality. The exterior was updated with a new front canopy and steps, wide four-panel door, glass garage door, and a fresh coat of paint.
