The owners of this charming cottage style home on Lake of the Isles are frequent hosts for a variety of both personal and public events. While occasional renovation projects along the way have tried to keep up—the interior had grown cramped, insular, and with little connection to the lake. Worse yet, the kitchen had been tucked in the back.
So we removed the garage and put into an addition. We then dug out a spot for an underground garage which allowed us to put a terrace and builder onto connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. A new kitchen came back up front, with views to the lake and making it a central hub around entertaining and socializing. The overall rethinking of the layout made flow from room to room seamless and offer a much stronger connection to the visual beauty of the lake.
